IN THE ROUND
MAY 26 - MAY 31
        Opening Tues. MAY 26, 6-9pm
IN THE ROUND is a sculptural installation by Delia Cadman exploring illegibility and opacity as vehicles of eroticism, failure and rupture. Drawing on urban remains, theatrical ruin, and immaterial trace, the installation stages incoherence, approaching collapse through interpenetration, association, gravity, absence and risk. Collapse is reframed not as an end but as a condition foundational for intimacy, and beyond intimacy, gnosis.

Clubland is pleased to announce the opening of IN THE ROUND.  A sculptural installation by Delia Cadman, IN THE ROUND explores illegibility and opacity as vehicles of eroticism, failure and rupture. Drawing on urban remains, theatrical ruin, and immaterial trace, the installation stages incoherence, approaching collapse. Objects lean, bind, interpenetrate, obstruct, support, and consume one another. Collapse, both materially and existentially, is reframed not as an end but as a condition foundational for intimacy, and beyond intimacy, gnosis.

In the logic of a city, meaning emerges associatively rather than linearly. Scattered fragments accumulate into an environment that oscillates between refuge and ruin, concealment and revelation, ultimately remaining unresolved. Irresoltion itself becomes a driving force, enacting the unknowing of gnosis through the collection and accumulation of intinsities that never climax.

The title IN THE ROUND refers simultaneously to theatrical staging, dimensional sculpture, two or more voices singing the exact same melody starting at different times, holes, public spectacle, exposure and enclosure. The round is also a ring, and an infinity.

Special thanks to Errat, Cora, Beth and Joel for making Clubland possible with their love and support, and Chloe, Jesse, Sagan and Ethan for their labor in the work’s ideation, production and installation.
